3 hours (2 lecture, 1 conference); 3 creditsCritical and comprehensive study of the social, cultural, and community factors that contribute to the psychological, sociocultural, educational, and holistic well-being, mental health, and resiliency in LGBTQ youth, from birth to emerging adulthood. Examination of the role of counseling, psychology, and educational fields in promoting resiliency and well-being of LGBTQ youth within educational and community contexts. Consideration of special challenges, risk and protective factors, and coping resources relevant to this population in education and community contexts. Satisfies Pathways Flexible Core US Experience in Its Diversity requirement.
