3 hours; 3 creditsLanguage as a human universal practice. Survey of linguistic anthropological methods and analysis of language data. Linguistic diversity, dialects, social usage, change. Relationships among society, language, and culture. (Not open to students who are enrolled in or have completed Anthropology 2300 or Linguistics 2001.) Starting Fall 2019 qualifies as an International Cultural Competency (ICC) course for Pathways College Option purposes.
