4 hours; 4 creditsMathematical principles of computer graphics. Euclidean and affinegeometry. Coordinate systems and transformations. Matrixrepresentations of transformations. Rotations, translations, andprojections in 2 dimensions. Representations of 2 dimensional objectsusing polygons, quadratic curves and splines. Determination ofdistances between, or intersections of objects in 2 dimensions.(Students who have completed both Mathematics 1711 [8.5] andMathematics 2101 [10.1] will receive only 3 credits for Mathematics1711 [8.5] and only 2 credits for Mathematics 2101 [10.1].)Prerequisites: Computer and Information Science 3110 [15] andMathematics *1201 [3.3].
