3 hours; 3 creditsFundamental properties of integers and related systems, in particular ofprimes, factorization, and divisibility. (Not open to students who havecompleted Mathematics 1.1 for credit. A student who is enrolled in orhas completed a Mathematics Department course numbered 5 orhigher may not take Mathematics *1102 [1.4] for credit except withpermission of the chairperson.)Prerequisite: course 2 of the New York State Sequential MathematicsCurriculum, or two-and-one-half years of high school mathematicsincluding one year of geometry and a course in intermediate algebra, orMathematics 0.04, or a grade of C- or higher in Mathematics 0.35 or0.36 or 0.44, or the equivalent.
