2 hours lecture, 2 hours laboratory; 3 creditsSediments and sedimentary rocks, their conditions of formation, basis of classifications; environments of deposition; methods of mechanical, chemical, mineralogical, graphical, and statistical analysis. Laboratory work will stress analysis of unconsolidated sediments and sedimentary rocks in hand-sample, and includes one or more field trips. This is a writing-intensive course.Prerequisite: EESC 1101 or EESC 1201.Prerequisite or corequisite: ENGL 1012
