3 hours, 1 hour multimedia laboratory; 3 creditsFirst in a two-semester sequence for students who have completed Japanese 1010 and 1020 or the equivalent, or have had four years of high school study. Continued development of oral fluency and writing in social interaction and in systematic vocabulary building. Increased awareness of cultural diversity in areas where language is spoken. (Not open to heritage speakers.) Qualifies as a LOTE (Language Other Than English) course for Pathways College Option purposes.Prerequisite: Japanese 1020 or permission of the chairperson.
